FANTASTIC FIBERS is an international juried exhibition that seeks to showcase a wide range of outstanding works related to the fiber medium.
One of Yeiser Art Center’s most engaging, innovative & colorful international exhibits, Fantastic Fibers is an inspirational “must see” for fine artists, quilters and textile art enthusiasts across the globe.
Contemporary and innovative works created with fiber as the primary medium are welcome. This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and over working in the field of fiber art. All work submitted must be original, completed in the last three years and not previously exhibited in a FANTASTIC FIBERS exhibition. There are no size restrictions. Up to five entries per artist are permitted with an entry fee of $25 per piece. All selected artworks will be featured in full color catalog produced by Yeiser Art Center for sale during the exhibition. Selected artists for exhibit will receive a complementary copy of the exhibition catalog. FANTASTIC FIBERS 2017 will be on display at Yeiser Art Center from April 22 to June 17, 2017.
Call for Art: The Chautauqua National Juried Exhibition: Order & Chaos, Fred Parker Giles Gallery, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky
Eligibility: Any artist, 18 years or older, is eligible to enter work in any medium except video. All entries must be the original work of the artist.
Theme: The subject of the art must relate in someway to the theme of Order and Chaos.
Specifications: Maximum size is 55” in any dimension. All work must be suitable for presentation or framed. Wall pieces must have appropriate hardware for hanging. Plexiglas glazing only. The director will exclude work that does not conform to this standard any accepted work that differs significantly from the entered image may be disqualified. Note, that the gallery walls are carpet covered ¾” plywood. Transparent pieces will be affected and some screws are too long for the walls.

Call for Art: The Enduring Figure: 4th Biennial Nude Exhibition, Kaviar Forge & Gallery, Lexington, Kentucky

We are excited to announce that Kaviar Forge & Gallery is currently accepting submissions for our fourth Nude Biennial Exhibition: “The Enduring Figure.”
This will be a juried group show exploring the theme of the human form; all 2D and 3D media will be considered. The exhibition will be displayed at Kaviar Gallery from November 25th – February 4th, with an Opening Reception November 25th 6-9PM during the F.A.T Friday Trolley Hop.

Call for Art: Doris Ulmann Galleries, Berea College, Berea, Kentucky
The Doris Ulmann Galleries, at Berea College in Berea, KY, are requesting proposals for solo shows for two academic years, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. Berea College is an undergraduate work college that offers a BA in Art with concentrations in Studio Art and Art History. The galleries support student learning across the curriculum. We have three changing exhibitions spaces: Rogers Gallery, Upper Traylor Gallery, and Lower Traylor Gallery.

Call for Art: Horizon: Contemporary Landscape 2016, Community Arts Center, Danville, Kentucky

Our annual juried exhibit will test the limits of what you think of when you hear the word landscape! While many artists portray classic landscape paintings, others delve into more abstract realms, submitting everything from collage and photography to mixed media and cast metal sculpture. We want to see where your imagination takes you as an artist.

The Community Arts Center is seeking entries for HORIZON: Contemporary Landscape 2016, an annual juried exhibition since 2010. This exhibition seeks to expand the definition of landscape art, welcoming both traditional and experimental work in all media (with the exception of live performance art). Juror: Isaac Powell. Awards: Best in show $500, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $100.

Firmly Rooted is a juried exhibition addressing our ongoing, symbiotic relationship with plants. This is an open call to artists in the USA for works in any medium including painting, drawing, collage, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, video, fiber, and any type of non-traditional art. Artists are encouraged but not limited to submit work that address some aspect of our connection with the plant world.–topics such as consumption, environmental reclamation, invasive species, extinction, healing and medicine, stories and myth. Artists are also encouraged to submit work that adheres to their personal aesthetic and formal styles of botanical representation.
