Elgibility: Any artist, living in the Southern portion of the United States, 18 years or older, is eligible to enter 2-D work in any medium. Please no photography at this time.
Specifications: Maximum size is 72” in any dimension. All work must be suitable for presentation or framed. Wall pieces must have appropriate hardware for hanging. The director will exclude work that does not conform to this standard.

Call for Art: New American Paintings – South Edition

It is that time of year again…
New American Paintings sponsors six juried competitions per year. The forty winners of each competition receive a four-page, full-color spread in New American Paintings. Five of the annual competitions focus on geographic regions (Northeast, South, Midwest, West and Pacific Coast), and the sixth is only open to current Masters of Fine Arts candidates who are attending schools based in the United States, and current year graduates.
Eligibility: Our competitions are open to all artists working within the United States. We define the activity of painting broadly, and all styles and media are welcome, as long as the work is singular. There are no educational requirements to apply to our regional competitions, only the MFA competition. Artists applying to the MFA competition may also apply to their respective regional competition in the same calendar year.
Call for Art: The Enduring Figure: 4th Biennial Nude Exhibition, Kaviar Forge & Gallery, Lexington, Kentucky

We are excited to announce that Kaviar Forge & Gallery is currently accepting submissions for our fourth Nude Biennial Exhibition: “The Enduring Figure.”
This will be a juried group show exploring the theme of the human form; all 2D and 3D media will be considered. The exhibition will be displayed at Kaviar Gallery from November 25th – February 4th, with an Opening Reception November 25th 6-9PM during the F.A.T Friday Trolley Hop.
Artists are welcome to submit up to three images (JPEGS only) by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by CD mailed to Kayla Bischoff, Kaviar Forge & Gallery, 147 Stevenson Ave., Louisville, KY, 40206.
Entry fee: $15 for up to three entries (entry fees are nonrefundable)
Submissions must include: the artist’s name, phone number, email address and physical address. Also include the title, dimensions, medium and retail price of each work by filling out the form found on our website.

Peripheral Vision Arts is now accepting submissions for the inaugural Foundation Prize. This traditional competition honors one artist working in each of three categories: 2D, 3D, and Intermedia. Prize recipients will receive a stipend of $300, an Artist Profile page, and a takeover of our Instagram account (4 posts, 2 days). Fifteen percent (15%) of applicants will be named Finalists. Finalists will receive an Artist Profile page and an Instagram takeover.

No. 88 Art at Intersections
How artists who find themselves at the intersection of interrelated identities—in race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity or ability.
Artists from AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MO, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, and VA are eligible to apply. Artwork will be selected by the Guest Editor of the issue. Artwork will also be seen on the Number:Inc website and on Facebook. All appearances of the artwork will be credited. Visit numberinc.org/back-issues for examples of past covers. Notifications will only be sent out to the artist whose work was selected.
Call for Art: Alive At The Bluebird, Nashville, TN

Now entering its 24th year, Alive At The Bluebird is the longest-running concert series in Bluebird Cafe history and Alive Hospice’s signature fundraiser.
The winning entry in the 2017 Alive At The Bluebird Poster Contest will be featured on event posters and T-shirts, event programs and other promotional vehicles. Additionally, the winning entry will be signed by participating songwriters and auctioned at the end of the concert series. Plus: Up to 10 entries will be displayed in Alive Hospice’s Gallery! It’s a chance to win notoriety, to have your original work recognized and displayed, to help raise much-needed funding for an organization that does so much good in our community and possibly win prize money.
Call for Art: 6th Annual Armstrong National 2-D Competition Exhibition, Armstrong State University, Savannah, Georgia

The Fine Arts Gallery at Armstrong State University is proud to announce its 6th Annual Armstrong National 2‑D Competition Exhibition. Over the past five years we have had over a thousand art works submitted to this competition. Each year the judges select 30 finalists. We are proud to announce that online submission is now available for this most diverse 2-D competition. The show will feature 2-D artwork including, but not limited to, drawing, graphics, painting, textiles, printmaking, and photography. The artwork will be judged by Chris Valle, curator and art department chairperson at the University of Florida.
Exhibition Dates: December 14, 2016 – January 18, 2017.
