Yeiser Art Center is now accepting entries for the FANTASTIC FIBERS 2016 international juried exhibition. One of Yeiser Art Center’s most engaging and innovative international exhibitions, FANTASTIC FIBERS seeks to showcase a wide range of outstanding contemporary works related to the fiber medium.

Contemporary and innovative works created with fiber as the primary medium are welcome. This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and over working in the field of fiber art. FANTASTIC FIBERS 2016will be on display at Yeiser Art Center April 9 – June 4, 2016.

Southern Constellations offers six paid residency fellowships to artists born or based in the Southern United States. Artists with sophisticated practice, socially and critically engaged work, and commitment to their city or region are encouraged to apply. Residency: McKinney International Art and Design Residency, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana

The Department of Studio Art at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a 4-6 week Fall 2016 McKinney International Art and Design Residency. Approximate dates for Fall 2016 are September 1st through Dec 18th.

Applicants should be actively engaged in contemporary artistic and design practice and show evidence of a national or international exhibition record. Applications from practitioners of studio disciplines, as well as criticism, are welcome.

The Artist-in-Residence is selected based on the merits of their professional careers, their dedication to being part of an academic environment and their plan to develop and expand on their creative process based on facilities and access to the unique collections and research specialties available at IU. The successful applicants will remain in residence throughout the tenure of their session. Selected applicants will be featured as part of the McKinney Visiting Artist Lecture Series. In addition, prospective residents will coordinate with the Department of Studio Art to offer studio visits, open studios and a workshop based on technical/conceptual innovations.

Studio space, lodging and a $4,000 USD honorarium will be provided for each position. The program will reimburse travel up to $2000. Other studio expenses will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.

The Old Furnace Artist Residency is looking to host artists in Spring 2015.
Visiting artists MUST engage in topics of social justice. A background in socially engaged art practices is urged but not required. Public programming and activations are encouraged. We do not offer traditional studio spaces but can usually secure resources for visiting artist.

Flint and Steel are five week residencies designed to allow artists to join forces with academic partners. Artists and faculty members from Tulane and Xavier Universities will be united to inspire each other in the development of new work, to excite the public, and to fuel social change.
